My Name is Miss Shawn and I am a Family Support Specialist.  

Education 

 I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) with a Bachelors in Child and Family Development with an emphasis in Child Life. I also have my Early Childhood Credential Level 5 and my Infant/Toddler Credential Level 4 working towards my level 5. 

Work related experience 

I have been a teacher for both preschoolers and two year olds.  I was also a 2006 finalist for the Kohl McCormick Early Childhood Teaching Awards.  I am now the Family Support Specialist.

Why I work in the field of education 

I really enjoy working with families and helping them cope with the challenges of raising children (as a parent I know there are many) and with any other needs they may have.

 What I like about Lake Shore Schools is that we have a positive play-based learning environment for the children we serve and that we want parents to participate in their children’s classroom in any way they can.
