Lake Shore Schools full-day Kindergarten program provides a warm, nurturing and engaging classroom environment. Our Kindergarten curriculum focuses on both academic achievement as well as social and emotional development in children. During the Kindergarten years, students develop self-esteem and learn cooperation. Students develop the ability to work together, get along with others, learn patience, how to take turns, share and listen to one another. These are skills that children will develop and use throughout their school years. Lake Shore Schools’ curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and provides a balance of teacher-initiated and child-initiated activities. Students learn to work independently as well as in small groups. Our program uses a strong literacy-based approach helping to foster a love of books, reading and writing.
